Introduction
Innovating in science is rarely a straight path – and the challenges between discovery and real-world impact are often complex. That’s why we use the Innovation Readiness Level (IRL) model to help evaluate, plan, and support ideas through every stage of development.
The IRL framework was developed by KTH Innovation and builds on the well-known TRL (Technology Readiness Level) model. It expands the view from purely technical maturity to five essential dimensions that reflect real-world startup and transfer needs:

Is your idea supported by a scalable business model?IPRL – Intellectual Property Readiness Level
